Do Your Students Blog?

I just got back from a wicked-awesome workshop where one of the guest speakers spoke passionately about technology and how it is changing the world. Kids are learning their numbers and letters on iPads before they are 3 years old. We need to help them harness this power so they know how to use it to navigate and make meaning in their world.

In talking to a colleague of mine, he suggested having each student start their own blog, and use it in lieu of a journal. What a fabulous idea! So I found this great website that allows teachers and students to do just that. Check out www.kidblog.org and see how you can empower your little writers to start their blog debut in a way that will be current, relative, and most importantly safe.

Do you use blogs with your students? If so, how?
