A Spring Mural
A colleague of mine had this great idea to create a garden mural with our two classes. The students painted pieces of plain paper in random colours and patterns, and then they cut them into petals, butterflies, and other garden creatures. We sponged the blue background, and just used regular old paintbrushes for the grass. I think it turned out pretty fantastic. An easy art project for the last week of school.

Time for A New Schedule?
My kiddos are busy learning how to tell time to the hour, half hour, and quarter hour. This can be a tricky concept for some of them. Here is a visual schedule of a typical day for us, created by the students. They chose important events from throughout the day to illustrate and label with the time in analogue and digital format. Throughout the day, they can look at the clock and match it to one of the events up on our schedule. So far, it is getting lots of use!

MMMMM Sundaes
My kiddos are so proud of these! They are such an artsy bunch, and they love looking at their masterpieces (who can blame them, really). This project was a great way of integrating math and art, and got them really using their whole brains.
This is an activity from my latest TpT unit on Canadian Currency. Included in this unit are the instructions for the Sundaes, and the menu all ready to go. Check it out at my store.

Show Me the Money!
This one is for all you Canadian teachers out there.... a 164 page unit on teaching Canadian money. For me, money is one of the hardest math concepts for young children to understand, as it can be very abstract for them. With this unit, you and your students will play games, do hands-on activities, and open your own classroom store where your students can really start to understand the basics of using money.
Here are a few pages from the unit....check it out at my TpT store to get some more information.
I hope you and your students find this unit helpful and fun!

My Chunkapillar has been eating lots....
I have been meaning to post a picture of my chunkapillar for some time now. We have learned about lots of different "chunks", or spelling patterns this year. It is amazing how this visual sticks with my kiddos all year. They worship this creature and his many body parts! If you want to make your very own chunkapillar, check out my TpT resource for more information.
Happy Chunking!
